A Massive First day.
Well because our feet were not already sore we decided to walk today. We walked all the way from near Nortre Dame to Musee Rodin. So today this is what we did: We caught the bus from near our hotel to near Nortre Dame. We then walked around Nortre Dame.
We then started walking toward the city and the other sights for the day. We are at this point heading toward the Louvre Museum. We walked some that waydown along the Seine.
Finally we made it to the Louvre, below, only` to realise that I have forgotten what day it is and the museum is shut. From here we decide to walk to the Arc deTriumph along the Champ Elyssee.
After some shopping at H & M we made it to the Arc de Triumph. It is very `odd to have a great monument in the middle of the biggest and scariest roundabout in Paris. We went to the top and it was lov ely to see the way in which the roads lead out from the Arc to the rest of PAris. It also allowed us to plan ourroute to the Eiffel Tower. `Though that didn't work and we ended up catching the metro.
When we caught the Metro I remembered vaguely that Trocedero was very pretty. `This allowed us to approach the tower from one of the best available vantage points. We also took the time to sit in the park and eat lunch deciding we will go up the tower that night.
WE t`hen walked past Invalides to Musee Rodin. He is a great sculture and we had amazing Panecotta here. Unfortunaelyt the central portion of his garden was shut meaning the idea of sitting for a while in the gardens fell to the way side.
From Rodin we the travelled back to the arc to find somewhere to eat. We decided on a restaurant called Hippopotamus because we liked the name. The food was okay but there was far too much of it we think we may end up like the Hippo.
ANd that is the end of a very long day we will not be doing so much in one day again, Very tired must now sleep.

After Dinner we headed back to the Eiffel Tower. I bought my mum a postcard and we Queued to go Up the tower. by the time we got to the top it was 2 and a half hours from when we started to queue. we then had to queue to get down from the 2nd floor to the ground. All in all a long end to an even longer day. Though I have to say that it was very beautiful up there and we did get to head up as the sunset which was very special. I have to say though that when I am tired my Vertigo is really bad plus the glass elevator on the steel intially intended to be temporary structure resulted in me feeling quite Nauseas.
Waitng to go up the tower as the sun begans to set. |
The Beautiful Sunset as we wait on the Second level to head to the top. |
The tower at night from the second floor. |
WE made it to the top and got a picture of the Antenna which KEvin Assures me is very distinct. |
And the Third or fourth light show of the evening though the first we have seen as you can't see it other than flasshing lights when you are on the tower. |

Safe journey Grandpa (Fraser)
Today my grandfather has sadly passed away he was in hospital for the past week and has thankfully left us swiftly and with little pain. He was also blessed to leave with no knowledge of his poor prognosis, so better than waiting his time out.
Safe journey Grandpa (Fraser) May you find a restful place to rest in the next 3 days. We love you and will miss you dearly. A safe journey as you find your new home.

Feminism
Today I mentioned something about considering changing my name when I get married. Someone present accused me of being anti-feminist. While in this case it was a joke it did get me thinking. Surely me choosing that as it symbolises to me my marriage and joining of my life to another persons this is an acceptable choice. What would I feel be anti feminist would be to change my name because that is what is expected of me as a woman even though I don't want to. Maybe in honor of feminism I want wear a bra on the day ..... Actually that would be bad I will wear a bra it is safer.

A perfect day
Well this morning I went shopping with Kevin for a new bed . Kevin and I have been together now for just short of a year.
After that we went and bought milkshakes from my favourite chocolate shop. We then went for a 2 hr horse ride the first I have been on in a year and his second ever :)
After which we changed into our glad rags and went to sky high on mt dandenong. At 5 o'clock we went through the maze there eventually coming to the butterfly garden where champagne was waiting and Kevin asked me to marry him...... I said yes.
We then concluded our perfect evening with a lovely restaurant dinner and amazing desserts yum!
Having already called mum to tell her which meant courtesy of my brilliant family we came home to a congratulations banner and a room lit by fairy lights a perfect ending to my most perfect day. I love you Kevin it was brilliant.
Finally in case you missed it in the details I love Kevin and we are engaged :)
