A Massive First day.

Well because our feet were not already sore we decided to walk today. We walked all the way from near Nortre Dame to Musee Rodin. So today this is what we did: We caught the bus from near our hotel to near Nortre Dame. We then walked around Nortre Dame.

Kevin and the beautiful stained glass windows at Nortre Dame. He loved the church and windows very much.

We then started walking toward the city and the other sights for the day. We are at this point heading toward the Louvre Museum. We walked some that waydown along the Seine.

Our first view of the Eiffel Tower.

Approaching the Louvre Museum.
Finally  we made it to the Louvre, below, only` to realise that I have forgotten what day it is and the museum is shut. From here we decide to walk to the Arc deTriumph along the Champ Elyssee.

We loved all the pretty gardens and treees on the way.

Near the Louvre we found an Ice Creamery that serves theiur icecreams like a flower.
~ Thanks to Imo we new to look.

A film currently showing in Paris we think not my Kevin.

After some shopping at H & M we made it to the Arc de Triumph. It is very `odd to have a great monument in the middle of the biggest and scariest roundabout in Paris. We went to the top and it was lov ely to see the way in which the roads lead out from the Arc to the rest of PAris. It also allowed us to plan ourroute to the Eiffel Tower. `Though that didn't work and we ended up catching the metro.
The sta`irs up the Arc de Triumph

A model of the Arc, and `below you can see they even included all the names on the model.

Us at the top of the arc with our next destination in sight.

When we caught the Metro I remembered vaguely that Trocedero was very pretty. `This allowed us to approach the tower from one of the best available vantage points. We also took the time to sit in the park and eat lunch deciding we will go up the tower that night.

Musee l'Armee again a Pretty Place

 Invalides again a Pretty Place

WE t`hen walked past Invalides to Musee Rodin. He is a great sculture and we had amazing Panecotta here.  Unfortunaelyt the central portion of his garden was shut meaning the idea of sitting for a while in the gardens fell to the way side.
Kevin's best Thinker pose.
From Rodin we the travelled back to the arc to find somewhere to eat. We decided on a restaurant called Hippopotamus because we liked the name. The food was okay but there was far too much of it we think we may end up like the Hippo.

After Dinner we headed back to the Eiffel Tower. I bought my mum a postcard and we Queued to go Up the tower. by the time we got to the top it was 2 and a half hours from when we started to queue. we then had to queue to get down from the 2nd floor to the ground. All in all a long end to an even longer day. Though I have to say that it was very beautiful up there and we did get to head up as the sunset which was very special. I have to say though that when I am tired my Vertigo is really bad plus the glass elevator on the steel intially intended to be temporary structure resulted in me feeling quite Nauseas.

Waitng to go up the tower as the sun begans to set.

The Beautiful Sunset as we wait on the Second level to head to the top.

The tower at night from the second floor.

WE made it to the top and got a picture of the Antenna which KEvin Assures me is very distinct.

And the Third or fourth light show of the evening though the first we have seen as you can't see it other than flasshing lights when you are on the tower.
ANd that is the end of a very long day we will not be doing so much in one day again, Very tired must now sleep.
